Speed Limit Bylaw
Drivers must stay at or below 30km/h on the roads and road sections listed in the bylaw, with a stated 40km/hr limit on a specified section of Leigh Road. Non-arterial and non-collector roads in the Westhills Development are also limited to 30km/h and must have traffic-calming features.

The amendment changed references for Leigh Road and Leigh Place, including removing a section of Leigh Road south of Dunford from a 30 km/h zone. Posted speed limits affect how people travel and the speeds drivers must follow.

Westhills speed-limit map amendment
The amendment corrects the map used to identify collector roads in Westhills, including changes involving Alouette Drive, Langford Lake Road, Irwin Road and a future road. Since non-collector roads may be signed for 30 km/h, the map affects which roads are covered by that arrangement.

The speed-limit bylaw adds a 40 km/h zone on part of Leigh Road near the ambulance station and removes the 30 km/h zone on McCallum Road between Florence Lake Road and 1010 McCallum Road. These changes update posted speed limits on the two roads.

The maximum speed at which a person may drive or operate a motor vehicle shall not be greater than 30km/h on the following roads: - Walfred Road (centre of 916 Walfred Road to centre of 932 Walfred Road) - Goldstream Avenue (Peatt Road to Veterans Memorial Parkway) - Finlayson Arm Road - Humpback Road - Spencer Road - Southglen Drive - Alderglen Place - Preston Way - Setchfield Avenue and Treanor Avenue (from Florence Lake Road to Millstream Road) - Florence Lake Road (Brock Avenue to Setchfield Avenue) - Brock Avenue (Spencer Road to Florence Lake Road) - Goldeneye Way - Atkins Avenue - Leigh Road – 40km/hr (from Costin Avenue, south of Goldstream Avenue, through the intersection, to the ambulance station, north of Goldstream Avenue at 2764 Leigh Road) - Leigh Place (Bylaw No. 1659 Amend No. 5, 2016) as outlined in black on Schedule “A”, attached to and forming part of this bylaw. 2. Other than Arterial or Collector roads in the Westhills Development, the maximum speed at which a person may drive or operate a motor vehicle shall not be greater than 30km/h and require that traffic calming features be constructed in the roadways to the satisfaction of the City Engineer; and renumber the remaining sections accordingly. 3. This Bylaw hereby repeals Bylaw No. 1045, “Langford Speed Limit Bylaw, 2006.” 4.
