Commentary

The City of Langford and Rugby Canada have posted a Request for Proposal for a General Construction/Design Assist Contractor to construct the training facility. The RFPs close on September 16 and the evaluation cannot be made by the time of the Council meeting on September 19. The next council meeting isn’t until October 3rd so staff are requesting that council pre-approve the selection of the General Contractor so that construction will keep on schedule and the outside work can begin immediately. The selection of the General Contractor will be made the week of September 20. The selection will be made by CoL, RC and JSA and will be based on the criteria as laid out in the RFP.

Financial Implications

Legal Implications

The CoL and RC will be required to enter into a legal agreement with the contractor selected to complete the site preparation.
