Dear Sir/Madam,

February 26th 2017 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the "Hike for Hunger" food drive. Your local community branches of Girl Guides and Scouts proudly support this national event. These children are challenged to collect donations for our local food bank, the Goldstream Food Bank. They collect donations for about a week, and then gather at the West Shore Mall, pack up their donations in a backpack or wagon and continue to hike towards the Goldstream Food Bank. As a group, we will walk over from West Shore Town Center Mall, up Veterans Way, to Station Rd then along to the Goldstream Food Bank.

This event helps to raise community awareness of hunger related issues, the need to assist our local organizations, and the importance of restocking the shelves. It is an incredible opportunity for the children to learn more about these issues, while participating in an important community service project. Last year nearly 600 Ibs of food donations were collected. We certainly hope to surpass that total this year!

We would like to have permission to walk through the City of Langford with the Guiding and Scouting members and their donations for the Goldstream Food Bank..

Please contact Trudine Wilson at 250-478-5484 for any questions

We thank-you very much in advance, and we sincerely appreciate your support.

Thank You
Trudine Wilson
