Re: Letter of Request for the JDRF's 2016 and 2017 TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes
Dear Mayor and Councilors,
Thank you so much for the City of Langford's support and partnership of the 2015 TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes held at Westhills Stadium at City Centre Park on Sunday, June 14th, 2015 (and, of course, for your support and partnership for the last four years)!
It was a fabulous event that brought together over 1,100 members of the JDRF community at the fabulous City Centre Park and beautiful surrounding area in Langford. We are pleased to tell you that over $112,000 was raised at this event to help cure and treat Type 1 Diabetes. Thank you for your support in helping make this happen!
Respectfully, we request to hold the Sunday, June 12, 2016; and Sunday, June 11,2017 iterations of the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes event in the same manner that the City has generously supported the TELUS Walk since 2012. We love producing our event at the CCP and surrounding areas of Westhills and the Ed Nixon Trail and we wish to continue working with
the team there and the community. Our event is also now closely linked to the CCP and area and we feel we can continue to grow the profile and success of the event with the added stability of a multi-year agreement.
In return for the City of Langford's support, we'd like to continue offering the benefits associated with our highest level of sponsorship. Please see attached sponsor information for list of benefits. Additionally, we'd like to offer a speaking opportunity for a representative of the City of Langford to speak from the stage.
I look forward to hearing from you and am more than happy to meet or discuss any further details or questions you may have.
Thank you very much,
